Devra's latest EP On The Way is a cohesive body of work packed with emotion and musical opulence that allows us to experience jazz music in quite a different light.
Devra's brand of jazz is interwoven with psychedelic elements, hip hop, soul, and this cinematic charm, resulting in a sound that feels both immersive and forward-thinking. That's exactly what we're acquainted with on his release with Jackson Mathod "Vondelpark Bop", especially thanks to it's mind-warping progression. In the first half of the track, the pair offer a groovy listening experience that's more reminiscent of jazzhop. Until suddenly, the tone changes midway and we're taken for a wild ride where the drums become thunderous, the trumpet goes off into a blistering solo, and the arrangement erupts into a bold, exhilarating climax. If you enjoyed this, I'd highly recommend diving into the full EP!
