The Dinner Party's new album Whatchu Bringing? is one I've been eagerly anticipating, and now that it's finally here, "I'm Yours" immediately stood out as one of the gems I thoroughly enjoyed.
Hip-hop, neo-soul, and jazz are exquisitely interwoven by Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, 9th Wonder, and Phoelix to create the soothing experience found on the album. A lot of the themes circle around love and affection here, and "I'm Yours" oozes with a romantic flair thanks to the silk-like vocal performance from Phoelix and the easy-going instrumental. Warm guitars wrap around the mix while the brass arrangements pierce through every now and then to bring life and vibrancy to the track. I can certainly see this landing on our albums of the year list!
