Quakin'

An album we've been eagerly awaiting finally arrived last week, and that's DJ Seinfeld's If This Is It - a body of work that beautifully showcases his evolution as an artist.

I've been following DJ Seinfeld since he had the lofi house scene buzzing back in 2017, and I must say this new album is his most cohesive project to date. One of the tracks that surprised me is "Quakin'" as it was melodically embellished with a downtempo-electronica aesthetic thanks to the handpans and glittery synths. Rhythmically, the track slightly reminds us of UK Garage, albeit in a manner that's really laid-back. This works amazingly with the smooth vocals floating across the mix, and overall, we're welcome to a soundscape that is upbeat yet simultaneously invites us to unwind. With such a variety of styles we're acquainted with here, If This Is It has definitely been worth the wait.

"I've spent the last 4 years working, deleting, re-imagining, and finally finishing up what I feel is an album that hopefully captures a bit of where I came from at the start of this project, where I’ve been since then, and where I am going next", shares DJ Seinfeld.
