Not only have ymprl and Victor Aithen cemented their collaborative synergy under the new moniker dreamdvst, but they've also just unveiled their new body of work together, Daydreaming II.
Back in 2023, the pair released the first edition of Daydreaming where we heard melodic house, UK garage, and chill house neatly packed together and reimagined in a tranquil context. The sequel to this experience offers this, and more especially since they have grown as producers over the years. "Homesick", the opening track, is among the standout moments on Daydreaming II. Its melodic layers are brought to life by soft, dreamy synths, and this is juxtaposed by a gritty bass line that injects the track with a sense of tension and movement beneath its hazy atmosphere. If you enjoyed this, you're bound to find more gems across the EP.
