I have to say, I wasn't sure what to expect after hitting the play button when I first say the tag #funk wave on top of DUCKWRTH's "Boy". After listening to the track more than a dozen times I have say - I see why this label.
The US rapper completely blew my mind. Masterfully blending together hip hop, spaced indie-ish electronica and funk basslines, the artist managed to create peacefully flowing perfection of sounds. This is the first tune I hear from him, but mark my words - that dude is definitely someone to pay attention to. I think I'm absolutely obsessed with the vibe pouring out of "Boy".
The track is taken off his 2017 released An XTRA UUGLY mixtape and if you want to dig deeper into DUCKWRTH's out-of-the-box sound, I highly recommend .
