I am mindlessly browsing through YouTube (The Ultimate Time-Slayer) and I come across this video of a girl, just busted out of a time capsule from the late 1960s, who describes in front of a psychedelic background, how cool an LSD trip is. As I am wondering if she's for real, I look over the Similar Videos section and my eye is caught by an intriguing word - "foxygen". And thus began my dive into the psychedelic culture of the 21st century.

Foxygen is a duo of 23-year-olds, who met at 15 and, and inspired by Anton Newcombe of the iconic Brian Jonestown Massacre, decided they have to learn to play as many instruments as they can. After that they split up, then got back together and released the little confusing to me EP Take the Kids Off Broadway.

"San Francisco" is a track from their first full-length album (behold the title) We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic. The song, though evoking a bit of a "meh" reaction at first, kind of grew on me and I caught myself repeating it over and over in my head. The lyrics are pretty trippy and the tune is quite... whimsical, the overall strack is really charming with its easy and adorable, at the same time quite sinister vibe. It’s like Scott McKenzie does shrooms with The Kinks in 2013.  So, if you are going to San Francisco, be sure to play this record in your car...and don't do drugs (Stereofox Cares)!
