After many years of releasing music in collaboration with underground German rappers, HawkOne recently established himself as another one of the names behind Berlin's most intriguing fresh chillhop/electronic music.
"Blue Casket" is another fine example of a classy beats with a lo-fi edge from the construction kit of a hi-fi producer, one could say.
The broken-up and diverse drum patterns give the track its signature mechanically dreamy vibe, complemented by the variety of almost glitchy-feeling sound textures. Jazzy piano chords, gentle sax melodies and soulful vocal shops emerge on the surface of the soundscape with almost random timing. Though once you kick back and listen to the unexpected turns the arrangement of this track takes, you meld with the unusual, yet satisfying groove of this luxurious jazzhop track.
