The South African multi-instrumentalist and producer has a knack for bridging different worlds, namely hip hop, soul, and electronic music. On "Hummingbird", we're acquainted with these lush, sparkling textures over a gritty bass line with a bounce - and it's this contrast that makes the soundscape here feel so dynamic. I appreciated how the track flows too, as there are moments that feel atmospheric and uplifting, and sections where the groove takes over so you can seamlessly nod along.
