For anyone who is drooling over the works of Hiatus Kaiyote, D'Angelo, or Cleo Sol, I'm stoked to share with you a joint sonic venture from LA-based indie-soul-electronic band Idesia which we've covered in the past and singer Soh Darling.
Connecting Idesia's initial venture into indie neo-soul with the debut album Golden Dreams (2015) to the latest endeavors of singer Soh Darling, Love, Me offers a whimsical reinterpretation of two beloved fan favorites and an underrated album track. For today's spotlight, I've chosen the soothing and very warm "April Love" which blesses us with the full spectrum of Soh Darling's vocal range to pay homage to the Idesia's r&b origins. The original accumulated more than 2M streams on Spotify alone and has appeared on various Spotify playlists like Feel Good Dinner and I love my Neo-soul.
Today's rendition is a few degrees more playful which adds a whole new level to the wonderfulness of the original. What a lush way to start the year.
