Had the pleasure of meeting and listening to ISHA live last year in Amsterdam, and I must tell you - she is going places, and is one of the nicest people I've met.
Today, the young Dutch producer, bassist, and singer-songwriter embarks on a new journey - her debut album. The first single, "Leave It As It Was," marks a sonic switch from her last funk/soul EP, What You're Seeing. Here, ISHA explores the realm of electric, yet organic indie, with her playful synths, warm vocals (yes, she will be singing a lot in this record), and live drums thanks to Maxie Cheer (toured with Kate Nash).
"Leave It As It Was" is about the tension between holding on and letting go. ISHA elaborates that "sometimes loving someone isn’t about helping or changing them but just leaving them to be themselves."
Very excited for the next taste from her upcoming album.
