Synth-charged positive electronic groove, breakbeats, and IDM with an awesome 90s rave scent - meet Jex Opolis' and his new track "Gem". This is our first feature of the Canadian producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist but he has been quite active in the electronic scene for years now and every time I stumble upon his music or mixes I feel the eclectic vibe stemming out of his creations. The classically trained piano and guitar player offers a different angle on dance electronic music with each new track.

I am having a hard time writing about "Gem" as it actually offers such a multi-layered approach and it feels both contemporary and old school. Like a blend of Westbam, underworld, and Caribou.

"Gem" is the first single off his upcoming new album It's Me, Jexy scheduled for May 14th. He shares,

"Over the few past months, I've found myself really missing big bass sounds in the club. So I bought a 2003 Camry and tried to mix a record that would rattle the windows."
