Ever since I've listened to Portico's Living Fields, I've felt in love with Jono McCleery's voice. As cheesy as it sounds, there is indeed something peculiar to that deep voice.

After collaborations with Portico and Maribou State, Jono McCleery is back with some new solo materials. "Age of Self" is a (too) short guitar-voice ballad that could be fit in one of those introspective movies. Though there is an obvious reference in the cover art to his previous release Ballade (Ninja Tune, 2013), this folk-ish cover of Robert Wyatt "Age of Self" announces more of an organic and lay-back album - Pagodes is set to be released on October 2nd via If Music.

If anything, I find this very soothing (and I'm now about to watch Into the Wild for the million times)
