Today, we celebrate Sasha & the Bear's brand-new album, Held in Passing, which the duo released at the start of August.
I wanted to share with you the song that instantly grabbed my attention, "It's All New", with its intricate blend of acoustic and subtle futuristic electronic elements. " It's a song about accepting change instead of fearing it, and finding hope in new beginnings even when they arrive with uncertainty," the duo elaborates.
Written and recorded in remote cabins across Portugal and Slovenia with little more than the essentials, Held in Passing feels like a record built around embracing imperfection. Since reviving Sasha & the Bear in 2022, this stripped-back approach has become part of their process — and here, it pays off beautifully. These are songs about love, friendship, grief, anxiety, and all the messy, beautiful bits of simply being human.
The record also features "Peaches" - a song I featured earlier this year. A wonderful and otherworldly experience.
