When we think of a Sunday afternoon, words synonymous with 'laid-back' and 'relax' would appear in mind. With that being said, the title of this track is rather ironic...

Like a fleeting cold breeze on a day where the sun becomes violent, Juliet's musing vocal's are cooling enough to relax you but on the other hand, the overall vibe of the track is actually quite energetic by virtue of the instrumental. I really enjoyed the infusion between acoustic and electronic on here and the drums supplied the kind of movement that'll have you head nodding back'n'forth in pure satisfaction.

"With 'Sunday Afternoon', Juliet July tells an Ancient love story about a deep longing to a love aglow and free of rules despite the busyness that comes with the pursuit of dreams".

Juliet's meticulousness when it comes to her usage of 'space' is something that I found impressive. There is a hint of minimalism within her vocal delivery and it makes complete sense if we take into account the very active instrumental. If you're a fan of Snoh Aalegra, this is something you'll enjoy.
