London 5-Piece Junior Empire are essentially the Phoenix rising from The Mispers ashes. If you're not familiar with either guise, they're essentially an uber-funk collection of crazy folk that love putting the bounce into the indie-pop scene. Still among my favourite tracks of recent times, The Mispers "Weekend" was a near-perfect slice of pop wizardry and I'm pleased to say the cockney-conglomerate look set to continue the habit through the Junior Empire moniker. Their latest track "Decide" quickly follows on the heels of debut track "West Coast" and once again the shackles felt by your traditional alt-pop outfit seem not to weigh heavy on these guys.
We wrote decide when we were in a period of uncertainty and confusion which sometimes feels like everyday. It's about following the heart when your heads a mess.
Keep an eye out for their debut EP which you should see landing later this year.
