The 13-track record just landed in my inbox, and as Friday tradition goes, my 6 AM coffee comes with the best music I can find. So if this isn't the first thing I'm playing this morning, what am I even doing here?
Kicking off with one of the tracks that made the strongest impression on me - "Daydreaming", featuring 4 artists I love and respect - Cisco Swank, Luke Titus, Relyae, and CARRTOONS (who we interviewed recently). Fun story - last week I pulled out Luke Titus' From What Was Will Grow A Flower vinyl, so this all feels like such a nice full circle.
Anyway. Let's go back to the man of the hour, Kiefer. The album is gorgeous, soaked in emotion, and I can't wait to do a proper deep-dive next week. The reason why I chose "Daydreaming" was because of the lightness it injected into me. I love the soothing vocals, but I have to say - I heard Luke’s drum sound and it was an obsession on first listen. Kiefer leads this galaxy of talent in the best way possible, giving everyone room to shine. A true masterclass in bandleading and composition.
