Kobe Banks teams up with the talented future soul duo J-Silk for their new release "No Service", the final single from his cohesive body of work Head In the Clouds.
Born and raised in South Carolina, Kobe Banks is a producer who draws plenty of inspiration from the 2000-2015 hip-hop era and even video game OSTs from the same period. On "No Service" however, Kobe showcases his versatility and crafts a sexy r&b instrumental wrapped in glistening guitar works and woozy synth works. This whole atmosphere is beautifully enlivened by J-Silk, who I suspect added their futuristic touch to the beat, and layered it with velvet-smooth vocals that pull listeners into a state of relaxation. As much as the mood is sultry, lyrically J-Silk dives into a love that's corroding, to the point of taking some much-needed space.
