"Regress" serves as his second release this year and with this track, he has created a lush mixture between neo-soul, country, and even electronic embellishments. His vocals gently float over the warm instrumental that's adorned with soft guitars and beefy drums. Lucas Geddes' combination is quite unexpected yet it works so well and really looking forward to hear more of this style.
This song is about the way we talk to ourselves, and that when we engage in harsh self-criticism, we're often (unknowingly) speaking to a younger part of us, one that wants safety and acknowledgment.
