A mixture of alternative r&b and bedroom/lofi pop, "For You" is the latest vibey release by US artist Matt Sterling.
Matt, who he produces, writes, performs, and mixes all of his own tracks, crafted a touching composition with a slightly melancholic character. His unorthodox drum approach, combined with the warm chords of the track, form the basis of the track, providing enough space for his rich in emotion vocals. He shares:
"For You” attempts to invoke the helpless frustration one can feel when they or someone close to them is struggling with their mental health. It was intended as an internal dialogue, expressing (to myself) how lost I can be in my attempt to help myself. At the same time, the lyrics have parallels to a relationship that’s falling apart, leaving the partners feeling hopeless in their attempt to mend what was once their source of joy.
