Some bands make me a not very proud Russian, but some absolutely do. Motorama is one of those bands. The guys from Rostov – on – Don have gained quite some attention all over the world. They are touring a lot around Europe, playing quite some concerts in the Motherland as well. They are a very rare case of a Russian English-singing post-punk band.

"Seagulls" is a track from their second EP "Bear" released in 2009. Since then their style has changed noticeably, becoming more distinct and less "Joy Division"-ish. Although who said sounding like Joy Division is a bad thing?!

Vladislav Parshin somehow does sound very similar to Ian Curtis. The whole atmosphere of the song is dark and a bit gothic, but very dynamic at the same time. Even though the song is quite old it is still on constant replay and it is probably my favourite track by this band. I highly recommend checking out their last album "Calendar" released in 2012 to hear different, more melodic and cheerful sound of Motorama.
