The stars have aligned today as Sudanese/New York-based Nadine El Roubi shares her debut full-length album, Life Is Beautiful Again. It tells a deeply personal story of navigating inner and outer chaos, womanhood, belonging, and the determination to hold on to faith through struggle. Both melancholic and powerful, introspective and self-assured, it's an exploration of what it means to keep choosing hope, even when life gives you every reason not to.
We had the pleasure of chatting with Nadine just before the release to hear all about her creative process and inspirations. You can head over to the interview here.
We picked the fourth track, "Star", for a special spotlight on our blog and to kick off this week's New Music Finds selection. Now, I'm a sucker for a big, lush string intro, and this one had me hooked straight away. The song then settles into a raw, unhurried groove, making way for Nadine's vocals - confident yet vulnerable, intimate and full of feeling, to tell us her story, and it just can't be any more dreamy.
Nadine has poured years of work, experience, and care into this album, and you can really feel it, so go give it some love! Life Is Beautiful Again is out now on all streaming platforms (and available on vinyl, too)!
