We're so excited to finally share the beginning of this new chapter for Japanese trumpeter and multi-instrumentalist Nahokimama with Kyōdō Pt. 1 - her first solo-led project after a series of successful releases alongside her husband, the neo-soul guitarist Toshiki Soejima.

Opening the project is “Timeless”, created in collaboration with US producer Nitsua. It sets the tone for the album perfectly, pairing Nahokimama’s warm, expressive trumpet melodies with Nitsua’s rich jazzhop grooves & production, and creating a deeply immersive and calming atmosphere.

Meaning “collaboration” or “doing together” in Japanese, Kyōdō is a trilogy of EPs that brings together a diverse circle of collaborators - Nitsua, German beatmaker B-Side, French bassist and producer Monsieur Teddy, and fellow Japanese producer Refeeld. With each collaborator’s unique touch on the production, the project becomes a meeting point for jazz & beats.

"Kyōdō means creating something together. I wanted each song to feel like a meeting point - where different artists, cultures, and ideas can flow together and grow into something new. This is Part 1, and I can’t wait to share the rest with you, too." - Nahokimama.

The perfect 10-minute escape after a long day. Stream Kyōdō Pt. 1 here.
