Japanese multi-instrumentalist (trumpet, guitar, piano) and vocalist is back to grace us with another beautiful single from her upcoming debut solo project Kyōdō, Pt. 1, dropping on May 26th. Meaning “collaboration” or “doing together” in Japanese, Kyōdō is a trilogy of EPs where Nahokimama & Stereofox invite producers and musicians from across the globe to shape each piece together, exploring how different artistic worlds intersect, overlap, and expand through shared creativity.
"Underpass", created in collaboration with French bassist and producer Monsieur Teddy (they worked together on Kimama Beats, which we released on vinyl last year), feels like long summer nights, carefree moments, and slow sunny days. That dreamy, catchy melody really stuck with me, especially when it’s played in unison by different instruments. Moreover, Nahokimama's trumpet playing shines through so beautifully, floating over soulful guitar lines, groovy bass, and warm keys & synths.
Such a beautiful, dreamy track - a must-add to your chill beats summer playlist. Listen on all major platforms here.
