Today I miraculously stumbled upon Nate Smith’s vibrant LIVE-ACTION - a seamless fusion of jazz, classical, electronica, and r&b in one cohesive journey.
Nate Smith is not only regarded as one of the most influential drummers of his generation, but he is also an incredibly talented composer and producer. His skills as a multi-disciplinary artist unfold throughout LIVE-ACTION, with one of my favorite moments being the optimistic track "LAST SIGHT" featuring saxophonist Josh Johnson. The presence of the synths gives the track a spacey feel, while the arrangement is rich with soul, creating a balance between futuristic textures and a sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of my favorite jazz finds lately!
