My latest undertaking on these lazy summer days is to scour the depths of Bandcamp for hours on end, finding little known gems. At around 1 a.m. this morning, after 3 hours of searching, I fell in love with the indie pop sounds from Minnesotan Observer Drift. He released his sophomore album Fjords earlier this year, and every piece is as bright as the light on the art. My favorite song from it has got to be "Marina". Almost reminiscent of Conner Youngblood with it's harmonies and percussion-laden beat, it shines in every way possible.
Observer Drift is the musical project of 20 year old Collin Ward. Fjords is his second effort, released in May. You can stream it from Bandcamp, where you can download the entire album for free!
