Olivesque's latest single "Alice" showcases just how thin the line is between the worlds of dream pop and bedroom pop.
Her voice is coated with a thick layer of reverb to accentuate a dream-like atmosphere, and to heighten the moody nature of her lyrics. I'm sure you must've caught that "Alice" is centered around a heavy topic for Olivesque just from her emotional vocal delivery. This experience is complimented by gentle guitars and deep pads that enter the mix towards the end to bring the track to life.
"The song is about a connection with someone fading and knowing it was inevitable but still trying to hold onto it. But in amongst me venting about love, friendships and connections fading, I guess I find out more about myself reading between the lines – it’s a subconscious coming out song".
