Earlier this year, we highlighted Oscar Farrell as one of the top electronic artists to watch this year, and his latest release, "Birds Fly In" further proves why.
This marks the second release from his upcoming EP Birds Fly In - a body of work that so far sounds heavier and a lot more menacing than what we're used to. In fact, on the title track, we're reminded a lot of Burial thanks to the moody atmosphere and the hard-hitting drums adorned with a layer of reverb. One of the most fascinating moments of this experience is certainly the vocals. They're almost alien-like, albeit in a manner that carries so much pain and soul, especially towards the end when the drums fall silent, and our attention is placed firmly on the vocal performance. It's beautiful to see Oscar veering towards this direction, and I'm really thrilled to hear what's to come!
