Even though I wasn't particularly fond of the chorus here, I truly cherished what Paintriip had to say within his verses.

The background is decorated with a guitar that's soaking with chorus fx and it's effect which gives the track a much more of a dreamier feel. Right under that, the drums are very minimal which provides space for Paintriip's vocals to pierce through the instrumental. On "Make Waves", the rapper takes us through how it's like to stay true to yourself and not follow a crowd to fit in or to be accepted, while also touching on the tribulations of growing up and not being able to identify with any group of people. But instead of dwelling on it, turning into a positive.
