Tune in with the perfect lofi hip-hop getaway, “Wrapped,” brought to us by Budapest-based Budapest-based instrumental/electronic musician Ponkie. Maybe it’s the dreamy guitars or the subtle synth but this pensive track oozes harmony and I can’t get enough of it.
Released, on the day of 2020, Ponkie got me reminiscing of the newfound peace I experienced during this crazy year. The strength and liberation that come with detaching yourself from people and outcomes, yet remaining present and attuned to your thoughts and behaviour; flowing like the atmospheric background effects of “Wrapped” through a sea of “flying harmonies”, beat drops, and gentle strings.
