Today, we're teaming up with Seattle-based independent electronic music label Hush Hush Records and Istanbul-based electronic musician Badmixday to send your way some awesome electronic sounds from Turkey.
"Lotus Leaves" featuring Gökalp K is taken from Anıl's (the guy behind Badmixday) upcoming debut album A Quiet Mind Awaits scheduled for the 10th March. I've had the chance to listen to the whole record and it's nothing short but impressive. Inspired by things way beyond music like meditation techniques, the album offers quite a lot of depth and captivating ambiance.
Going back to "Lotus Leaves", the song is an outstanding example how to create a truly captivating sound experience. The first few times I heard the song, I literally couldn't do anything else but try to map all those tiny sounds samples comprising "Lotus Leaves". The Istanbul-based producer blends downtempo, ambient, trip-hop and jazz elements in the most perfect way possible.
