From the charismatic flows to the hard-hitting instrumental, there is a lot I found intriguing about Red Lotus' newest release "Built Different".
San Francisco-based rapper Red Lotus takes a very melodic and thoughtful approach to making music. His songwriting in the first half of "Built Different" oozes confidence as he expresses what makes him stand out as an individual. The second half however is the part that's bound to snatch your attention. Over beefy drums and a booming bass line, Red Lotus comes across as an activist with swagger and this is emphasized in the section just before the drums fall silent. I love how this is hype yet thought-provoking at the same time!
