This immediately brought back my love for trip-hop - but with a wonderful twist.

The UK singer Ria Moran, a frequent collaborator of jazz collective Nubiyan Twist, brings the title track of her upcoming debut album. "Cubico" blends indie soul, trip-hop & jazz/jazztronica influences, and is one of her most honest tunes ever.

Written from Ria's mother's perspective, it pays the much-deserved tribute and honours the time & attention she gave to Ria even in the most difficult times. The singer adds, “This one is pretty heavy subject matter, so I would be keen to say, those who know what it’s about will know what it’s about, and those who don’t can express and relate to it in any way they feel. This song is the most personal and honest song to date, and I’m quite nervous to release it!”

The deep & introspective feel is reinforced by the soft keys & the deep vocals, but the tune ends with a surprise - a synth-driven, groovy outro that'll leave you speechless. Needless to say, we're quite excited for the album (out July 18th via DeepMatter Records).
