One of the most exciting rising names in the psychedelic soul scene right now is RIO KOSTA, who has just unveiled their captivating debut album, Unicorn.

RIO KOSTA emerged almost out of nowhere with a breaktaking sound that fuses 70s' psych rock with soul, funk, and contemporary r&b. One of the tracks which grabbed my attention is the incredibly catchy "Higher", one of the teased singles that welcomed many through the gates of their microcosm. The bright guitars radiate vintage warmth and this is pleasantly complemented by the silk-like vocal performance, especially as he echoes "I wanna get higher" throughout the chorus. I certainly can't neglect to mention the groovy drums which tie everything together with an irresistible swing, giving the track its infectious, feel-good energy.
