Lean Back

Back in September I received an interesting artist promo email. One of those I tend to not open unfortunately because there's 10 of them daily and I just can't cope with life if I end up doing it. Not sure why, but I ended up opening this one and furthermore - read all the info inside.

I was blown-away from how well Rodney had presented himself. The beautifully designed one pager pdf and all the info he provided. After listening to his track "Flight Delay", I knew he's someone I would love to work with.

Rodney Hazard is a multidisciplinary artist and creative director based in Brooklyn, NY that boasts an impressive repertoire of musical and visual art collaborations. With his lucid, emotive production, he’s worked with artists including multi-platinum recording artist Bipolar Sunshine, members of the A$AP Mob, Nessly, Meyhem Lauren, AZ, Lais, Joe Budden, and more.

That's how we ended up here - in the beginning of his journey called Sandcastles scheduled for the end of February. Today, Rodney embarks on alternative r&b journey towards a beautiful genre glitch destination with subtle vocal chops titled "Lean Back".

Lean Back is an ode to letting go and letting love. I’m at a place in my life where I’m letting things fall into place after a long, intense period of change and growth. Things should feel easy, natural. So I wanted to create a piece of music that inspires that feeling. This is a collage of sounds, all working in harmony to create something human. Furthermore, I wanted to give that feeling to other people who might feel/felt the same way I do.”, shares the artist.

With previous support by outlets like Highsnobiety & live shows in USA and Europe, we're excited to welcome him to the Stereofox family. He's definitely bringing a sound that's pushing the boundaries of our usual stuff, and I'm very excited for it.
