A release on our label that will leave a life-long impact on me.
Sunrom's Everlight EP is one of those pieces of music that reaches for some special, uncharted places in one's mind. In 6 songs, the Paris-based producer, DJ, and creative director journeys through ups and downs, light and darkness, all in the effort of showing the limitless abilities of music to affect our emotions.
“Everlight is a project born 3 years ago, shaped by my desire to slow down and reconnect with something organic and sincere. The name of the project, Everlight, refers to the balance & equilibrium between shadow and light. A silent dance in which every darkness carries within it the seed of a persistent glow – ever-light, the luminescence that endures,“ Romain shared with us. He seems like as a deeply complex figure - someone whose mind feels nearly impossible to unravel, layered with intricate thoughts and perspectives. It is that complexity that gives his work such a special edge.
After the first singles, "Fade" and "Glory", today we're spotlighting Everlight's opener, "Dust". A song drenched in nostalgic sadness that feels like the weight of the world, in a weirdly beautiful way. I wanted to share the lyrics with you. Simple, yet piercing.
Well, I’ve been
Lost in the dust
Long enough
To see this town
Go straight to hell
All my friends
Have had enough
But I'm still stuck
Here by myself
Lost in the dust
Lost in the dust
