I am thrilled to introduce Takuya Nakamura, a composer, trumpeter, keyboardist and DJ, originally from Tokyo but based in New York. He pushes the boundaries of music by blending his deep jazz roots with edge-cutting electronic production. I would call him a true pioneer in contemporary music.
“Broken Jazz” is part of his latest album Shape the Future and is a collaboration with Tim Reaper, a music producer and DJ specialising in jungle music.
The big contrast between Nakamura’s warm, expressive horn solos and Reaper’s intense tempo creates an unpredictable but flawless symbiosis. I think "Broken Jazz" couldn’t be a more fitting title for this release. It literalizes the collision between the two artists' distinct worlds.
For everyone who likes to get lost in the more experimental corners of the music industry – this is your track.
