The Plastics are a group of 20 somethings based in Cape Town, South Africa. Karl (bass) , Sasha (Drums) , Arjuna (Lead Guitar) and Pascal (singer/guitarist) who apparently grows his own tomatoes (random fact), describe themselves as 'quirky' and say they like to do things differently. The first time I heard their music I started squealing like a 12 year old and proceeded to Google them to get any info I possibly could.
Their sound as described by them is sort of 60's , 70's crossover rock with a little disco thrown somewhere in between. I couldn't agree more. It sounds like something straight out of the movie Almost Famous plus Pascal's vocals are pretty cool - he has that whole scratchy indie voice thing going on - the definition of alternative. And yes, they're totally a band to watch.
