I have had my ear on him since his stunning features on the last albums by Mick Jenkins and Kirk Knight. He grabbed me with his soulful hooks and genuine r&b feel and I would go as far as to put him next to Frank Ocean talent-wise.
In this single, produced by the THEMpeople crew, TheMIND brings inspiring lyrics along a strong atmospheric beat, empowered by the features of Donnie Trumpet on brass and Sylvie Grace on cello. "Mercury Rising" is a message to the youth to dream and not be afraid to fly next to the stars and TheMIND's soulful vocals make it a powerful one.

I truly am excited to hear what more TheMIND has in store for us this year, because with promising tracks and features like these Frank Ocean might be in trouble of losing his R&B throne. Especially if he continues to delay his album.
