What happens when you blend the sound of Tame Impala, Vampire Weekend, Future Islands and War on Drugs? Something truly captivating. Something like Von Bismark's obscure beauty "Moth".

Von Bismark is new project out of Oakland produced by Jeff Saltzman (who produced The Killers, Green Day, Two Gallants, etc) and headed by Jonathan Smith, formerly of indie dance outfit The Hundred Days.

What I loved about "Moth", besides Jonathan's vocals and the somehow melancholic feel is the guitar elements that start around 00:55. Reminds me distantly of math rock. Peculiar and super addictive. Keep going back to that moment.

Excited to premiere the music video, which you can watch below!

Smith shares his experience and how the transition affected the creative process behind Von Bismark...

After being in an indie dance rock band for years, touring nationally and overseas,, I decided to refocus on what made me happy as an artist: writing good songs. It was intimidating, but moving to the east bay has made me a better and more honest songwriter.”
