Today, we pay homage to legendary dub pioneer Scientist, who did what he does best - reworking a couple of tracks from Yoni Mayraz's 2025 Dog Bark Babies Cry album into brand-new, deep, spacey dub versions. We chose the record as one of our 50 Essential Albums of 2025, so it's good to re-live that experience in a whole new way.
Known for his work with King Tubby and Lee "Scratch" Perry, Scientist strips the original back to its core and rebuilds it through bass pressure, masterful use of tape delay, and analogue alchemy. The result is a rare, cross-generational exchange that lands in the wake of Mayraz's critically praised album earlier this year. The perfect psychedelic trip.
