I've said it countless times - one of the best things of the diverse team we've got here is the fact that we can tap into our respective local music scenes and share bands who very often most of you won't be able to stumble upon easily.

In that line of thought, I would like to share with you one of my favourite alternative rock bands ever, some members of which happen to be friends of mine. These guys are based in a city just twenty minutes away from my home town in Bulgaria. I guess it goes without saying that I couldn't be more proud when sharing music with an international community and in the same time to be able to say "hey, yeah - these guys are from my motherland and they kick ass!".

You can safely say that Becoming Someone Else is my "safe place" to go when post-rock and electronic start feeling overwhelming. I guess my abandoned last.fm profile would confirm it! The album was released few years ago, but I've always thought it deserves a spot on the website. Everything from the extremely powerful and captivating vocals to the brilliant interplay between bass and drums. And of course - the dynamics. I mean, it is pretty rock-driven and noisy record, but on these right few spots - things lay down in the proper quietness line

OK, I have to admin - there might be a scent of post-rock influence here and there, but in general their songs despite being (IMO) dark are very energizing.

In total, the album consists of 8 tracks and if you ever lay your hands on it, I wouldn't advise you to press the "next" button. There isn't any particular logical sequence and most of the tracks can easily be played on their own but... if you hear the record from the beginning to the end, you will definitely have a feeling of completeness at the end of the very jazzy outro.

Truth be told, I've no idea what are they up to now or whether there will be new stuff released, but their video for "As I Am" seems like a good way to end up this feature. Enjoy!

Stay up to date.
