June 12th, 2015 - the day has come! The day a lot of us have been patiently waiting. The day Ta-Ku's Songs To Make Up To EP is finally out and we can all sit back, relax and stream the s&#$ out it!
I guess it goes without saying - the Perth beatsmaker is seriously one of the best producers of our generation.
I can't believe it's been almost 2 years since I wrote the review of his first absolutely stunning record Songs To Break Up To, but unlike the previous time - now it's time we all look a bit more hopefully to the future and... make up?
But enough with past (although I still stream that album quite, quite often).
Songs To Make Up To contains 7 tracks and once again it follows some sort of word-play when it comes to song titles:
Besides the Soulection ninja Sango and Atu, I was really happy to see Jordan Rakei's name in the collaborations list! We've said it before, but Australia seems to be the place when it comes to our generation's outstanding musicians.
I still haven't had the chance to stream the album more than a few times, but so far things slowly start growing on me! Not having a favourite track, but besides "Love Again" and "Long Time No See" which I had the chance to listen time and time again, I feel that "Trust Me" is slowly growing on me!
The official album release will be marked by a secret Red Bulls Music Academy x Red Bull Boiler Room performance in Perth. In case you want to stream the whole thing tonight, just follow Boiler Room. I guess that's not really surprising, since Ta-Ku is one of Red Bull's Academy alumni (2009, Barcelona).
For the rest, I'll leave the music do what it has been created for and I hope you enjoy this absolutely stellar release!
ps. Ta-Ku released additional track off that EP featuring Alina Baraz
