As I am just discovering the music of Alpines, I was excited to hear that they duo are dropping their sophomore LP Another River in October.
"Heaven" is the first track off the record and I definitely like what I hear. I'm a big fan of deep hypnotic vocals, which create the R&B feel of the track, but I think production stands out even more. There is a ton of different elements to it and the beats you don't expect to be paired with the kind of vocals we hear. Even though this has a potential of creating a really distorted sound it really doesn't. The track is soulful and vibrant, and you don't even notice when it ends and you hit play again.
Keep your eyes peeled for their new album, it looks really promising.
