I have been quiet on the melodic hardcore/punk front for some time now and the next post is about to change this. The following three songs by three different bands do not come in any special order or timing. For undisclosed reasons (read as too lazy) I did enjoy them but did not end up sharing them here at Sterefox. Anyway, without further formalities I am proceeding to my "top 3" melodic hardcore/punk songs.

Distances were formed in 2011 and "Don't Cross the Beams" is from the album Throat of the World, released earlier this year in May. From start to end this song is an absolute beast. Powerful vocals and great instrumental form a solid amalgam. The "last" exhalation at 0:55, the highs and lows between 1:56- 2:00, the outro, in fact the the whole song from start to end is my favorite part.

Deviance were also formed in 2011 and if you happen to live in the state of Washington, USA you might be lucky to catch them touring around. In "Voices" the emphasis is on the vocals and the melody in general. I find Zane's voice very passionate which for this music genre is a must. The instrumental part is heavy yet melodic. There are mini breakdowns, guttural vocals, fast pace drumming and melodic guitar - overall, "Voices" shines with talent in abundance.

Last but not least are Trophy Eyes, a newly formed band in 2013 from Newcastle, Australia. Out of the three songs, "Hourglass" is the lightest, entering the category of aggressive pop-punk/melodic hardcore. I absolutely love the grainy vocals as well as the group vocals towards the end of the song. I hope these guys make it soon enough so they can start touring around the world and Europe in particular. I'll be the first to buy a ticket for their gig. Cheers.
