ANOHNI is the new moniker for the creative engine behind projects like Hercules and Love Affair and Antony and the Johnstons, an artist who's worked with legendary names like Bjork and Lou Reed. The new name comes with a new pronoun (new to the public, at least), for the transgender artist, formerly known as Antony.

The name ANOHNI also marks a new sound for the British singer, who is working on a debut album in collaboration with Hudson Mohawke and the ambiently psychedelic Oneohtrix Point Never. Dark, socially-charged topics over grim experimental electronica are to be expected, judging from the two promo releases - "4 Degrees" and "Drone Bomb Me". The latter is accompanied by a stunning video, featuring a dismal Lady Liberty - Naomi Campbel and an amazing crew of contortion break dancers (familiar to So You Think You Can Dance casting fans).

Drone Bomb Me is a powerful explosion of sharp synths and stifling base, adhered to piercing poetry addressing monstrosities of warfare from an intimate perspective. The message is topped off with a stylish visual dystopia, in which gorgeous as ever Campbell opposes the aggressive movement of the contortionists.
