Following the release of Washed Out's album Paracosm last year, the music video to "Weightless" was released overnight. A tale of unrequited love, a story I'm sure we all know is explored with scenes of slow-motion skateboarding and jumping with an undertone of teenage longing. This made the combination of the clip directed by David Altobelli and the track itself mesmerising.

David describes the narrative of the video

"Unrequited love is a universal emotion. In this case, the emotions are heightened because there exists yet another wall between the protagonist and the object of his affection. It's heartbreaking and inevitable, but it's also just part of being a kid in love."

Although it's 7min long, take the time to get to 1min 40sec where the true velvet sounds of Washed Out is awoken.
