On their latest project, Give It Time EP, Mona Vale demonstrates their artistic evolution by embracing a more euphoric production style, complemented by uplifting vocal performances.
The London-based first made waves in the scene with their early releases with Eton Messy. During this period, and even before, the sound of Mona Vale was mildly adorned with the influence of soulful club music. In 2022 however, they unveiled a deeper and emotive sound via Anjunadeep with their Piece of You EP - a colorful body of work that transports listeners through a variety of emotions.
Two years later, they're back with another project on Anjunadeep, this time introducing us to UK Garage rhythms and soundscapes brimming with emotion. The title track and crown jewel of the EP "Give It Time" pairs these beautifully eerie vocals with glossy piano arrangements and airy pads, thus creating a comforting allure from start to finish.
Some of the tracks and similar vibes are also on our chill electronic sunset playlist selection.

The presence of stellar guitar licks gives the track a fierce touch, and this is punctuated by a raw, punchy drum line. Mona Vale follows this up with "Lenka", the anomaly in the project. Bright African vocals (sample) make their presence felt and breathe life into the mix. However, what unites "Lenka" to the whole EP experience is that feeling of euphoria we're offered, especially in the end.
Mona Vale closes off Give It Time EP in an energetic fashion with the dance-friendly gem "Nothing To Me". When it comes to the songwriting, it's quite tragic actually and tells the story of festering resentment. Its the lively drums coupled with glittery synths hanging in the backdrop that give the track a colorful allure.
Give It Time EP is hands down Mona Vale's best work to date, and I'm excited to see how their career will continue to ascend.
