Adanna Duru's latest release, "Daily Affiirmations" with OGI, reminds me a lot of Coco & Breezy, albeit with an experimental touch embellished with jazz.
This is my first encounter with the work of Adanna Duru, and it's compelled me to dive into her new body of work THE NAIJAMERICAN DREAM. Why I found " Daily Affiirmations" such a standout track is because it hits the sweet spot between musically elegant, bouncy, and texturally rich. The rough white noise floating in the background contrasts with the glistening beauty of the piano arrangements, and its variations like this that really give the listening experience dynamic. I can't neglect to mention the lyrics that are paired with empowering, fierce vocals that cut through the dense soundscape with a sincerity that's impossible to ignore.
