Joshua Thew is a Brooklyn-based singer songwriter. Born and raised in Hertfordshire, UK, Josh grew up listening to The Eurythmics, Sade, and Donny Hathaway- influences still evident in his music today. With his powerful, versatile voice , Thew has developed a singularly soulful sound: rich, vulnerable, and melancholic.
Both a classically trained singer and dancer, Josh left his decade long career as a dancer with the New York City Ballet in 2017 to pursue his music full time. In 2019 his small EP release Quiet Words garnered him both loyal followers and media attention from Flaunt Magazine, NYS Music and BBC Introducing.
On his upcoming new LP, Thew explores heartbreak and new love with a sensual, atmospheric groove and contemplative lyrics.
