Derek Vincent Smith aka Pretty Lights is considered one of the godfathers of sample-based electronic hiphop and soul. Having created an almost cult-like following, Pretty Lights takes to the stage worldwide with both DJ and live sets to orchestrate a cosmic audio-visual display known to impact witnesses forever. His most recent release A Color Map of the Sun was created by pressing vinyl of recorded studio sessions, which were then used as samples in the album. He is also the owner and manager of the label Pretty Lights Music.
